Potential harm or ill effects
CAUSES BURNS. Skin contact- There may be irritation and redness at site of contact. Eye Contact-There may be irritation and pain. May cause permanent damage . Ingestion-There may be soreness and redness of mouth and throat. Corrosive burns may appear around the lips. Nausea and stomach pains may occur. Inhalation-The may be irritation of the throat with a feeling of tightness in the chest.
First aid arrangements
Skin contact-Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and footwear immediately unless stuck to skin. Eye contact-Bathe with running water for 15 minutes. Transfer to hospital for specialist examination. Ingestion-Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Give 1 cup of water to drink every 10 minutes. Transfer to hospital as soon as possible. Inhalation- Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so.
Spillage / release action
Small spills can be handled with mop and bucket. Large spills should be contained with sand or sawdust
Work method and control measures
Dilute 1 to 50 parts water in a mop bucket and mop onto area to be cleaned. THIS CLEANER SHOULD NOT BE USED NEAT. IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH EYES OR SKIN RINSE IMMEDIATELY WITH PLENTY OF WATER AND SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE. IN CASE OF INGESTION DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE .Wear suitable gloves, clothing and eye/face protection
